Ramu bad lukk continues

Perhaps, because the real-life political supremo Ram Gopal Varma's Subhash Nagre is loosely based on used to be a cartoonist, the director chose to do away with character sketches completely in Sarkar Raj and work exclusively with broadly stroked outlines instead.

Also Read: Showcasing Sarkar Raj

Unfortunately, replacing character sketches with extreme, extreme close ups doesn't work all the time, and this film, for the most part, falls very flat, a well-lit and overdone follow-up to an overrated original. The acting is fine, but this is eventually a film without enough meat to sustain itself through to the end, culminating in an inevitably stifled whimper.

Right from the first scene -- starting as an uptempo throwback to the great barb-wire opening minutes of the original -- the mood is set. There is a dark room, sickeningly yellow beams of light filtering onto the characters artfully, almost bathing the ever-scowling characters in sepiatone, and all the frames are weirdly angular, shots composed around coffee mugs and ring-fingers and half a character's ear. The whole film seems like a disparate series of finely composed frames, as if Ram Gopal Varma inadvertently videotaped his attempts at photographing a Sarkar-themed calendar for the Bachchan family.

Oh, and the characters don't talk in this film. Never. They deliver dialogues. Big and unwieldy lines, laced with strange metaphors that the characters can't do without. It's all threats and explanations of threats, and this kills this film, this long and unnatural sea of unashamedly expository dialogue, with literally just a line or two of quirky Ramu relief to be found in the whole film.

And hey, I get the point. This is a masala bang-bang shoot-em-up mafia movie, and one can't possibly overestimate the importance of high-drama moments like the one described above. Characters need to occasionally step into the unreal, become way larger than life, and play cardboard cutouts well enough to enthrall audiences. Fair enough, and I agree completely.

Yet if every single scene of a film drips with high drama, the impact is lost. Whatever flaws the first Sarkar had, one couldn't deny the characters their impact, especially the leading man. This one, in its attempt to stay on a constant high -- just like its obscenely bad, sitar-abusing background score -- is resultantly left without any scenes played normally, in the key of the relatable, and so we're never in a position to actually buy into the drama.

The premise itself is doubtlessly interesting. Opening a mega power plant in Maharashtra could hugely benefit the people, but its very setting up requires the displacement of over 40,000 villagers. It is a believable conflict, that of the MNC splitting up political musclemen father and son over this issue. Both Sarkar (Amitabh Bachchan) and son Shankar (Abhishek) take the opportunity to give pro-Maharashtra speeches calculated toward the applause from the MNS audiences, in different directions. Sarkar wants the villages protected, Shankar is looking towards the long run. And so begins a conflict.

Surely an idea with potential, but suddenly -- just as Shankar's campaign to rally around villagers gathers steam and he begins sharing how-I-killed-my-brother confidences with inexplicably inquisitive businesswoman Anita Rajan (Aishwarya Rai [Images]) while a local leader called Sanjay Somji (Rajesh Shringapure) clad in Raj Thackeray spectacles begins to turn a ridiculously fickle junta against him -- that whole conflict is mooted as we return to Mumbai and everyone, literally everyone, starts shooting at one another.

Soon it's a bloodbath, but a completely unengaging and thanda battle, where corpses and kidnappings come too easy and the lines remain persistently cheesy. There is, as said, the odd moment of quirky humour, like when Chander (Ravi Kale) proudly points out land he owns to the boss's son Shankar, or when a frantic phone conversation abruptly ends with the words 'You too,' a jibe at that 'take care' we bandy about ubiquitously these days. Priceless moments, but are found here as rare as rationality.

The rest of the time we have to make do with ludicrous plot devices like a mute, gloved killer, straight out of a B-grade horror movie.

The acting is solid, and, as is the norm, Ramu surrounds his principal actors with a fine supporting cast. Kale and Govind Namdeo do very well, Shringapure is effective, Sayaji Shinde [Images] and Victor Banerjee are tragically underused, while Tanisha isn't half bad with clothes on.

Aishwarya Rai, for all the talk of being redefined as an actress, doesn't have anything to do really, besides saying a line about a power plant survey in English and then, teary eyed, listening to men talk. Abhishek Bachchan [Images] continues to simmer, and while he does pick up a shovel and do his own dirty spadework, the character never quite comes to the boil. His job profile here is frowning sans emotion, be it at a sarcastic old politician or the death of his wife.

Amitabh Bachchan [Images] does well, but only in that standard-issue sort of way. He has a great moment early on when red gulal is flung onto him by a girl too young to be intimidated by him, and it takes a lot for an actor to speak lines this pithy and pretend he means it. There are occasionally good one liners, like there being a fine line between zealous loyalty and betrayal, but somewhere down the line this Sarkar character too suffers from confusion and turns schoolmasterly as he tutors Ash (who is some vague live-in visitor at the Nagre residence, it seems) in the Art Of War. It's almost enough to remind you of his headmaster role in Mohabbatein, and the penultimate Sarkar Raj frame -- conversations with photographs, believe you me -- is far too close to that film for comfort.

This is a watchable, entirely forgettable film, and fans of the original are advised to rewatch that one again.

Ramu has concentrated far too much on the angles and the light -- both of which succeed only in making you think you're watching a film without clarity -- and not enough on the focus. Sadly, I'm not just talking camera.

Accordin to me

Yahoo ! Asia No .1

Most of the people entering the internet normally start their online life through Yahoo ! in Asia . It might be either for mailing or for chatting or for getting news. US based Comscore has conducted a survey to find the most widely used websites in Asia. The first place in the survey is occupied by Yahoo! , followed by Microsoft and Google .The Asian countries where the survey has been conducted are Japan , India , Taiwan , Hongkong , Malaysia......

According to this survey 10% of the population in Asia is using internet which is less than the world average of 16%. Highest amount of net usage is registered in South Korea with 65% of population using it.In Australia 62 % , Newzealand 60% , Hongkong 59 % of the population is using internet.Indian and china are backward in this context with India having 3% and china having 9% of netizens.

But India has surely got a very large market for the online traders. As the internet penetration is constantly increasing , India will open a large amount of opportunities.

How to set your Gtalk status as idle manually ?

Gtalk is one of the widely used messenger services these days . Most of the people like it as it connects in even very less network speeds . When I was in college , I used to use this a lot . Unlike yahoo , one cannot set their status as invisible or idle . I don't know how to go invisible on gtalk , but I found a software which can set your status to idle on gtalk .

The software is gAlwaysIdle

Download Galwaysidle .

After installing the software you can see four extra options in the right click menu of your gtalk symbol in system tray ." Normal Idle " , " Always Idle " , " Never Idle " , "About gAlwaysIdle " . Set your status to which ever idle you want after seeing the descriptions below .

- Normal Idle : - let GTalk decide when to set your status as idle
- Always Idle :- Set your status as idle permanently
- Never Idle :- Prevents your status from gettng to idle .

There are some bugs in this software while running with Vista according to my friend Tilak . Lets see whether they might fix it in their next release .

open banned sites in college ,,schools ,office,,,njoy,,,

Vexed up with your school or workplace administration blocking most of your favorite websites like Orkut , Myspace , Facebook...... Do you want to access restricted websites in School ?

Disclaimer : These instructions are not mentioned to do anything wrong....All the data given is just sharing a bit of knowledge

Lets start ourselves with client side softwares :

client software ::

Your freedom is a client program written in JAVA which lets you surf anonymously . It needs JRE to run on your PC.It supports http, socks, and https protocols . It has got 15 servers and a feature called "Auto change server " which changes the server automatically when the present one is busy and some other is idle . If you want to change server , You can set the option to manually change server . The startup wizard helps you to set most of the things and still if u don't understand detailed description is given on freedom website or check my Your-freedom user guide .This software is compatible with all browsers, file sharing software and instant messaging clients .This is so far one of the best tunnelers available .It gives you enough speed of 64Kbps in free service and 512Kbps for paid service but free service is enough for browsing. These days time restriction has been introduced. To bypass that you need to make multiple accounts on your-freedom site and login using them in the your-freedom client.
If your college service blocked ems.your-freedom.de. You still have option to go to your freedom site ,check available servers and put the ip on server address box in configure. Its very simple and so far the best thing i had seen for bypassing filters .

Bypass client from bypass.cc is also something which works just like your freedom but has just 3 servers and it restricts download limit for non paid users to just 1 MB per day. It is not recommended but can be used when u don't have any other option .

This pretty small client is very good but it gives annoying ads on the top bottom corner of your screen . If you want to remove them , right click on hopster icon in the system tray which looks like your LAN connection icon and click minimize ads . They will disappear with a nice animation . Hopster is recommend for instant messaging .

One more tunnelier which has nice servers at dresden-dresden and all . It also works like your freedom but not as much faster as your freedom . But its ok. The only problem is you have to download new version everytime if they add a new server i.e to access new servers you need to download new version . You can't update your server list right from client like others

It works by setting server at office or home and accessing it from some other place . It creates a SSH tunnel to access . I'm not sure about it as I never got a chance to use it . But still telling about it to give you information . If any one of you guys know about this , Please post it as comment .

For more updates from the Techworld , Subscribe to my feed or click here to get updates via email
Client side softwares should help .If your administration is too smart . then you need to try all these things .

  • Use a language translator page to “translate” the sites from any language into English.

  • Use a URL redirection service like tinyurl.com or snipurl.com. These domain forward services sometimes work as the address in the the URL box remain the redirect URL and do not change to the banned site.
  • Enter the URL in Google or Yahoo search and then visit the cached copy of the page. To retrieve the page more quickly from Google's cache, click "Cached Text Only" while the browser is loading the page from cache.
  • Change the site name prefix . E.g - use http://home.myspace.com (instead of http://www.myspace.com). Other prefixes to try for myspace.com: browseusers. search. invite. mail. blog. invite. favorites. forum. groups. events. viewmorepics. music. classifieds. signup. chat. vids.
None of the above is working ? This is the final option for you .Using proxies is the last way for you .

Recommended Proxy :: HTTP://www.kproxy.com

My proxy : http://manyarticle.com

Excellent fast proxy with 10 servers to access orkut , Myspace , Facebook and other blocked websites ...

You can also subscribe to circumventor websites which are provided by peacefire.org .

A lot of proxy sites are also available on net . Go to google and get them. Some of the sites like this http://proxieslist.net have great list of proxies.Check them out.

If your administration is continually scanning and blocking proxy sites you use . Join circumventor network . Register for mailing list from sites like www.frozenthunder.com or www.magictrainstation.com and use the new sites which are updated frequently. But if your admin joins mailing list like mine...I'm sorry
Reverse DNS Methods :

You can try to get sites ip addresses and use them to browse websites.. You can use this even for proxy sites . If a proxy site is blocked , retrieve its ip and access it using the by typing the ip address in the address bar .Site for getting Ip address of websites is www.dnsstuff.com

I shared with you people whatever i know about bypassing restrictions in workplace....If I find anything new I'll share them with you . If you know anyother way, please post it as comment to help the fellow readers .

As a longtime Palm aficionado it pains me to admit this, but it must be said: Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system is gaining serious ground in the handheld wars, especially the skirmishes involving PDA/phone hybrids.

I found this conclusion inescapable as I surveyed my desk recently: Stacked up awaiting inspection were two Windows Mobile-based devices from T-Mobile (the MDA Pocket PC and the SDA Smartphone) and Sprint Nextel 's Windows Mobile-based PPC-6700, a PDA/phone hybrid that was reviewed a few months back by our editor-in-chief, Harry McCracken. And those were just the ones on hand: In the same time frame a company called i-Mate stopped by just to show me preproduction versions of three Windows Mobile-based handhelds.
